Olivia Rodrigo's Sour CD

For one of our publication projects, we were asked to design a CD cover for one of the songs from the album we chose. The album "Sour"  by Olivia Rodrigo, had just come out and I thought it would be perfect to do the song Deja Vu for my album cover. The song talks about how her ex-boyfriend is doing the exact same stuff they did in their relationship with his new girlfriend. I decided to document some of the items she listed in the song and placed them inside a recycling bin on the cover of the album.  

Throughout the CD packaging, I wanted to involve cut out paper and letters or stickers to fit the artist's vibe. On each page of the liner notes there is a cut out piece of paper containing some lyrics with the title of the song in cut out letters. To create the feeling that the viewer is reading through a diary, I chose textured paper that was taped down and different stickers around the page
