The word charcuterie “SHAR coo tuh ree” is derived from the French words for flesh (chair) and cooked (cuit). Charcuterie is the art of preparation and assembling cured meats and cheese or any food onto a board. The key element of charcuterie boards is that they should be artfully arranged for each occasion. However, many people do not know where to start when creating a board. I noticed whenever I created a board, I did not know where to shop for my items or what kind of cheese or meats went on a board I was creating. Once I had all of my items, I began to wonder where to even start laying the items onto the board. With this book, On Boards: From Start to Finish, we will walk through the grocery list of each specific board, the places to buy those items, and lastly, the steps to create the artfully made board for your occasion.
